Calm before the Storm

For a variety of reasons (primarily the well being of my physical and mental health), I decided to take the month of October for rest and rejuvenation.  It’s been a real treat to be centralized in one place for the better part of a month, spending quality time with friends and loved ones.

One of the biggest challenges I face in my life is the constant planning and coordination of my travel schedule, which can be fun but stressful at the same time.  I’m always on the go, moving onward and upward, often without taking the time to savor the moments along the way.

There’s an old saying – ‘no rest for the wicked’ and I never really understood it until recently.  The way I’m seeing it if you don’t give yourself the time to really enjoy, appreciate and be grateful for those moments, then you may be missing out on the true magic in life…

My goal for October was to go with the flow and see where that would take me.  I ended up hanging out in Pemberton for most of the month, focusing inward, reflecting and contemplating my core values & purpose in life.  There were some new realizations, renewed affirmations and moments of celebration.  After some hang time with the boys and recalibration with m’lady, here’s what I came up with:

I am so stoked to be a skier, simply because it’s fun!  My goal this year is to have as much fun as possible both on the racetrack and in the backcountry.  I do have some more tangible goals as well, and they will be revealed as my visions come to fruition.

I love being a story teller, sharing my experiences of tapping into the infinite potential we all have to draw upon as we discover the source of our illumination, true nature and passions in life.

Now more than ever, I am being drawn to seek my inner truth.  What is the meaning of life?  What is my purpose?  Who am I?  These are good questions and fun ones to ask your self at different stages throughout time.  Enough reflection for now, it’s time to go outside.

Until next time….
